Critical Thinking Essay I

Your writing should illustrate knowledge of the concepts through an original personal and/or professional integration of the assigned text material. All assignments MUST be typed, double-spaced, 1” margins and in APA format. It must be written and proof read at the graduate level. Each answer should be numbered and be 1-2 pages long. This tells you about how much content to include and is not meant as a word count. You must integrate the material presented in the text and cite your work according to APA format. 1. The term Motivation is constantly used in Sports. “Let’s get Motivated.”, “Motivation wins.” And even “Motivational climate.” What is meant by the term “motivation”? Discuss self motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, maximizing motivation, and motivational strategies. 2. There are many different coaching styles. Some coaches use authoritative and try to control everything about the athlete. Sometimes this causes the athlete to lose all self-determination. Discuss this coaching style, current research about it, and if you agree or disagree with it. Use personal examples to support your answer. 3. As a coach, how might you employ five different types of imagery (control emotional responses, acquire and practice sport skills, acquire and practice strategy, cope with pain and injury, solve problems) for different situations to enhance the performance, affect, and thoughts of your athlete? 4. Explain the self-determination theory (SDT).  Do you agree with this theory? Give recent research and personal examples to support your answer.

I have attached the Final assignment since this assignment is building off of it this will be a big deal. I will let you pick the four domains that you are comfortable with and if you want I will help find articles for you as well or you can just do what you do best. Week six Final assignment is a big one.

Prior to beginning work on this written assignment, be sure to carefully review the instructions for the Final Assignment, which is due at the end of Week Six. In preparation for that assignment, you will list the four required content domains you have chosen for the Integrative Literature Review and provide a minimum list of six resources you intend to use for each domain. For the group of resources in each domain, evaluate the reliability, validity, and generalizability of the research findings and provide a rationale for including the group within the domain. These rationales should include descriptions of how the research findings will function together in the Integrative Literature Review.

Please use the format below for each of the four domains.

Name of the Domain: (e.g., Psychopharmacology)List the complete references for each of the six resources. Format your reference list in alphabetical order according to APA style Rationale:One to two paragraphs including the required information noted above.

Abstract

How should psychologists demonstrate respect for religion as an aspect of diversity when that aspect of diversity seems inconsistent with another form of diversity? This is a striking challenge when considering conservative expressions of religion in relation to a person’s experience of same-sex attraction and behavior. This article (a) asserts that conservative religion is a legitimate, though often overlooked, expression of diversity; (b) identifies ways in which gay-integrative theorists and conservative religious persons fail to appreciate each other’s perspective; and (c) presents a continuum of service delivery options to expand clinical services to persons who experience same-sex attraction. Intervention Support PlanThis assignment is the fourth component of your Assessment, Intervention Support, and Related Systems project. In Unit 6, you uncovered a wide range of scholarly works necessary for developing a strategic approach that entails multiple principles and tactics for changing behavior. In this project component, you will create an intervention support plan for the behavior change of the subjects in your case study. As stated in the course project description, if your chosen case study or real-life scenario has more than one behavior of interest, you must prioritize them for intervention. For this assignment, you will be assessed on your understanding of the following course competencies: Evaluate ABA assessment and interventions strategies to change socially significant behavior. Apply comprehensive skills required for consultation, implementation, management, and supervision. Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology. How to Organize Your PaperUse the following subheadings (formatted in APA style) to label the three main sections of your paper:Intervention Support Plan.Apply behavioral assessment methods for the consideration and selection of intervention outcomes and strategies for the target behavior in your case study. You will exercise your clinical writing skills to create a detailed behavior intervention plan including the following: Operational Definitions and Functions of Identified Target Behaviors. For this section, summarize all results of the assessment portion. Prioritize and define the behaviors to be targeted, and list the functions of each of those behaviors. Antecedent Procedures. Based on the results of the FBA, describe the antecedent procedures you recommend to prevent the behavior from occurring. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures. Replacement Procedure. Based on the functions of behavior, describe the replacement behaviors you would like to address as well as your plan for how they would be taught and reinforced. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures. Consequential Procedures. Based on the results of the FBA, describe how you would want others (therapist, teacher, or caregiver) to respond if the behavior occurs. Describe how to arrange the environment such that others will respond accordingly. Short-Term Goals. Describe behavioral goals for the client to be achieved with three months of service. Be sure to cite the research justifying these goals. Long-Term Goals. Describe the ultimate goals of the intervention. Describe the discharge criteria for the recommended ABA services. Be sure to cite the research justifying these goals. Generalization and Maintenance Procedures. Describe your recommended plan to generalize the skills learned in this treatment plan. Describe your recommended plan to withdraw any treatment components while maintaining low rates of challenging behavior. Be sure to cite the research justifying your use of these procedures.Monitoring Systems Support for Behavior.Present your design for effective performance monitoring and reinforcement systems for your chosen case study.Implementation of ABA Techniques.Discuss the research that supports your decision for the implementation of intervention strategies here. Reference the literature gathered in previous units to help you create an empirically valid intervention plan.Additional Requirements Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message. APA formatting: References and citations are formatted according to current APA style guidelines. Resources: At least 5–6 scholarly resources. Length: 3–5 double-spaced pages, excluding title page and list of references. Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point. 4MAT Review Instructions

The 4MAT Review system is a way of responding to readings that requires you to interact with new ideas on several levels. Your 4MAT Reviews must each be 4-5 pages.

Use the following format in preparing your 4MAT Reviews:

Summary

After identifying the title, author, and date of the book, summarize what you have read as if you were the author condensing the book into 400 tight words. Prove that you comprehend the readings by writing a no-nonsense summary. This section is not a commentary or listing of topics, but rather an in-depth, insightful “précis” of the content.

Concrete Responses

Get vulnerable! In 250 words, relate a personal life experience that this book connected within your own life. Relate your story in first person, describing action and quoting sentences you remember hearing or saying. In the teaching style of Jesus, this is a do-it-yourself parable, case study, and/or confession. You will remember almost nothing you have read unless you make this critical, personal connection. What video memory began to roll? This is your chance to tell your story and make new ideas found in the book your own.

Reflection

What new questions arise for you in response to what you have read? Keep a rough note sheet at hand as you read. Begin with questions like, “What would I like further information on?” Where do I not agree/strongly agree with the author?” or “What bothers me/excites me about this content?” This section should be about 250 words.

Application

How does the information in the book influence how you are going to continue your own personal/professional growth process? What actions or changes are you going to make in your life as a result of your learning? Your response here is a matter of obedience first, questions later. Be precise in summarizing your action steps. This section should be about 250 words.

Please note: Your grade on each 4MAT Review depends on the manner in which you address each of these 4 dimensions of response to readings.

4MAT Review 1 covers Gottman and Silver’s entire book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work

Write a two- to- three- page paper (excluding title and reference pages) that identifies a problem faced by your community. Discuss how a model of community change could be implemented to improve the problem.

  1. Describe six features of your community (e.g., cultural make up, size, and locality).
  2. Define the problem (e.g., obesity, environmental pollution, teenage pregnancy, graffiti, truancy, gangs, drugs, child labor, or insufficient educational programs) and explain why the problem is detrimental to the community.
  3. Select a model of community change identified in the textbook and explain how it could be implemented to improve the problem.
  4. Identify:
    1. At least three aspects of the problem you think that the model will be most successful at solving and provide reasoning as to why.
    2. At least three aspects of the problem you think that the model will struggle to solve and provide reasoning as to why.

The bulk of your paper should focus on the third component above (the model of community change). Your paper must include a minimum of two scholarly sources and be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
