Parents bring their child, GiMin to the ER who has fallen out of the tree. The parents immigrated from Korea 4 years ago. The child is 5 years old and is crying and clinging to his mom. The child is also guarding his right arm. He will not let anyone but mom touch him. Mom is visibly upset and keeps saying “I should have been watching him better.” Father is upset and keeps telling the child to “stop crying because boys don’t cry.”

There are many alternative therapies available for pain. Examples are music therapy, art therapy, massage, aromatherapy, pet therapy, etc. Through the use of these alternative therapies, patients can take control of their pain relief without the need to ask for pain medication from medical professionals. In addition, these therapies are used both inside and outside the hospital to help relieve both acute and chronic pain.
