In my professional and personal life, I have experienced and utilized different techniques depending on the situation at hand. Focus Groups and Brainstorming are two techniques I have frequently used. The one that I find most valuable to me would be brainstorming. When I brainstorm alone, I do not have to worry about other people’s egos or opinions getting in the way. I can feel free, relaxed, and more creative to come up with strategies. I do not have to hesitate to come up with an idea that I might not have brought up in a group setting. I can just find a comfortable place to sit and think of the situation at hand and explore it on my own. I usually map out my ideas, arrange and develop them. I only brainstorm alone when I need to make a simple decision, make a list of ideas for a party or event, or focus on a broad issue. Most of my group brainstorming occur in my professional life when we have to make a decision for work to solve a more complex problem.
