Purpose of Assignment

A strategic management plan addresses four different management functions: environmental scanning, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, evaluation and control. Weeks 3, 4 and 5 individual assignments (Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3) are integrated to generate a strategic management plan. The purpose of the Week 3 individual assignment is to evaluate the internal and external environments of a company selected by the student, to analyze the competitive advantage of the selected company, to evaluate a set of suitable strategies, and to examine appropriate metrics.

This assignment provides students an opportunity to research a selected company as if they were involved in a company’s actual strategic management planning process. It allows students to see which management planning process and management plan the selected company is currently using, allowing them to measure the effectiveness of current strategies.

Nitric oxide (NO) is an important player in immune response to microbial invasion and it is a neurotransmitter.

7. Nitric oxide (NO) is an important player in immune response to microbial invasion and it is a neurotransmitter. Its formation from the amino acid arginine is catalyzed by a metalloenzyme called nitric oxide synthase. Nitric oxide forms ON(02)-, a potent inducer of oxidative stress, in a diffusion controlled reaction with superoxide (Of). Draw reasonable NO schemes for NO and 02 , with careful attention to relative AO and MO energies. Predict bond orders and magnetic properties.

K.T., 35, is a white, fair-skinned, rural mail carrier. He is married with a 1 year old son. He comes to the clinic for evaluation of a changing lesion on his scalp.

 Subjective data:

  • History of a melanotic lesion on his scalp recently noted to be changing in size and color
  • Mother and older brother treated for malignant melanoma in the last 10 years
  • Anxious that the lesion might be cancer and require extensive, disfiguring surgery

 Objective Data – Physical Exam:

  • Has a 6-mm lesion, lacking in color, scalloped with vaguely defined borders
  • Has a large number of small nevi (more than 50) on back, legs, and arms
  • Four dysplastic nevi found on back

Objective Data – Diagnostic Studies

  • Excisional biopsy confirmed malignant melanoma
  • Sentinel node biopsy results were negative
  • Diagnostic tests indicate melanoma stage I

 Discussion Questions

  1. Identify the categories of the health history that have been addressed and those for which additional data must be obtained.
  2. What risk factors for malignant melanoma does he have?
  3. What health promotion concepts would you incorporate when performing an assessment of K.T.’s skin?
  4. Discuss the developmental (physical, cognitive, psychosocial, behavioral), age, socioeconomic, and cross-cultural considerations that should be considered during the gathering of subjective and objective data and the provision of health care.
  5. Relate expected (normal) findings to those described for this patient and discuss any additional information that might be needed before a judgment or diagnosis can be made.
  6. Based on the assessment data presented, what are the priority health needs?

Three patient values involved in DNR orders: 1) no medical benefit, 2) poor quality of life after CPR, and 3) poor quality of life before CPR.Present each of these patient values and a example of a situation in which each value is honored. Why is it important to include the nature of the patient’s values along with the DNR order.
