Here you will provide your immediate reaction to the talk in a paragraph or so (figure on about 6 sentences or so; if you go slightly over that is okay).  The first 2 to 3 sentences of your response should provide a brief summary of the TedX talk.  The remainder of your response should be your reaction to the talk (for example, what kind of thoughts did it evoke?  did you agree with the speaker or disagree, and why?  was the talk meaningful for you in contexts outside of the course?).  Both portions of your response are important, particularly the reaction.  Responses that clearly reflect you having thought about the talk will receive the best grades.  Responses that are not detailed will receive poor grades.

Using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services “Hospital Compare” website athttps://www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare/search.html, locate the data for two hospitals of interest to you. You may choose the two that are closest to your current location (or home location if deployed), but any facilities may be chosen. Run the hospital comparison, and then carefully study each portion of the review and ratings data for the two facilities.

Then:

1. Analyze the quality, safety, outcomes, and satisfaction data for each of the two hospitals that you selected. What stands out in the data of each hospital from a managerial and also a consumer viewpoint?

2. What are the identified strengths and identified weaknesses of each facility in terms of their quality data?

3. If you were the future health care manager of these facilities, how could your concerns for each facility’s data be addressed? Be specific in your explanations.

Specify the three or four central or most important arguments made or pieces of evidence offered in the article/chapter to support the thesis. You need to avoid detailed summary here—we have all read the article(s). If your article describes original, empirical research, be sure to describe briefly what the researchers did and found.

Also come up with two questions about those points. make the questions simple and can be answered from opinion side.

The substance is Caffeine!! please follow from previous assignment!!!

This assignment focuses on gaining greater familiarity with the subjective experience of substance abuse and addictive behavior, along with the scientific knowledge base. It is therefore divided into two parts.

Part I: Abstinence Exercise and Commitment Letter

In the abstinence exercise, you will choose a substance or habitual behavior (e.g., nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, sugar, shopping, or television [TV] viewing) from which to abstain for a period of five weeks. For this assignment, you will write a letter in the first person, addressing the substance or behavior from which you are abstaining and should be written on the first day of abstinence.

Tasks:

Write the commitment letter in the first person (e.g., “Caffeine, you have always been there for me in the morning . . .”). It should cover the following five areas:

  • How my substance or behavior is loved and is considered a “friend”?
  • How my substance or behavior is sensual (appeals to my senses)?
  • How I use my substance or behavior to help me cope with emotional distress?
  • How my substance or behavior controls and promotes my feelings of helplessness and entrapment?
  • How my substance or behavior is hated and what it has “cost” me?

Part II: Research Proposal

Conduct a brief review of the literature related to the substance or behavior from which you chose to abstain in Part I. For example, you may write about caffeine use of graduate students or compulsive social media usage among adults. Select at least two to three research article references pertinent to your selected substance or behavior.

Tasks:

Write a 1–2-page research proposal that clearly addresses the following:

  • The substance or behavior from which you are abstaining
  • Your personal demographics, age, gender, race, occupation, or other demographic variables
  • A thesis statement regarding the relationship between the patterns of substance use or behavioral addiction and your demographic population
  • A discussion of key findings from the literature on the selected substance or behavior

Your final product will be in a Microsoft Word document, written in APA format, and approximately 3–4 pages in length (excluding the cover and reference page). Include the commitment letter and the research proposal in the document. Your response should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

4 FULL PAGES WELL-WRITTEN PAPER (Due 1/14/2019 NO LATER) NO PLAGIARISM

PSY650 Week Four Treatment Plan  ATTACHED

Prior to beginning work on this week’s journal, read the PSY650 Week Four Treatment Plan , Case 15: Borderline Personality Disorder in Gorenstein and Comer (2014), and Borderline Personality Disorder in Sneed et al., . (2012). Please also read the Rizvi, et al. (2013), “An Overview of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Professional Psychologists,” Harned, et al.  (2013), “Treatment Preference Among Suicidal and Self-Injuring Women with Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD,” Miller (2006), “Telehealth Issues in Consulting Psychology Practice,”  and Luxton, et al. (2011), “mHealth for Mental Health: Integrating Smartphone Technology in Behavioral Healthcare” articles.

Assess the evidence-based practices implemented in this case study. In your paper, include the following.

  • 1. Explain the connection between each theoretical orientation used by Dr. Bank’s and the interventions utilized in the case.
  • 2. Describe the concept of dialectical behavior therapy, being sure to include the six main points of this type of treatment.
  • 3. Explain Dr. Banks’s primary goal during the pre-treatment stage and how Dr. Banks related this to Karen in her initial therapy sessions.
  • 4. Describe the two formats that Dr. Banks told Karen would be part of her treatment program.
  • 5. Describe the focus of the second and third stages of treatment.
  • 6. Assume the role of a consulting clinical or counseling psychologist on this case, and recommend at least one technology-based e-therapy tool that would be useful. Explain liability issues related to delivering e-therapy consultation, supporting your response with information from the Miller (2006), “Telehealth Issues in Consulting Psychology Practice” article.
  • 7. Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment interventions implemented by Dr. Banks supporting your statements with information from the case and two to three peer-reviewed articles from the Ashford University Library, in addition to those required for this week.
  • 8. Recommend three additional treatment interventions that would be appropriate in this case. Use information from the Sneed, Fertuck, Kanellopoulos, and Culang-Reinlieb (2012), “Borderline Personality Disorder” article to help support your recommendations. Justify your selections with information from the case.
  • (Due 1/14/2019 NO LATER) NO PLAGIARISM
