This is taken from the template:

Overview of the Client

In this section, you should provide an overview of the client using the biopsychosocial model.  Included should be biological predispositions, family influences, cultural considerations, and other systemic factors as applicable.  It is suggested that you have at least one paragraph each for the above areas.  These paragraphs should review the research related the areas, and then apply back to the client/case.

Please do not just summarize the character/client here.  Give me content that I couldn’t read or watch about this case.  You should include RESEARCH related to biology, family, culture, etc.  How do these interact with addiction?  Think back to early weeks of the course where we covered these issues.  Review the research and then link it back to the case.  You need to demonstrate some insight here, don’t just review the movie, book, etc.

Addiction Assessment and Intervention Plan For your Final Project, you will apply the information you have learned in this course to critically analyze a case study and develop an Assessment and Intervention Plan based on it. Your Final Project must explain the choices you made in your plan and be supported with scholarly references from peer-reviewed literature and your course text. The case study for your project will be selected by you from published media (literature or film). The subject of the case study should be at least 16 years of age and meet criteria for a substance-related or addictive disorder. Your Final Project should be 10–12 pages and include all of the following: 1. Overview of client using biopsychosocial model—this should include biological predispositions, family influences, cultural considerations, and other systemic factors, as applicable. 2. Assessment tools and rationale for selection 3. Provisional diagnosis with criteria; alternate considerations and rule-outs noted 4. Chosen therapeutic approach with rationale for selection; initial treatment goals for client 5. Ethical and legal considerations 6. Relapse prevention and continuum of care plan Don’t forget to include an introduction and summary in your paper! Although the Final Project is not to be submitted until Day 4 of Week 11, you should become familiar with the case study and project requirements and have them in mind as you proceed through the course. It is wise to select a subject for your final project at the start of the term, so you can conceptualize each section of the project as you progress through the course. The Final Project will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Application Assignment and Final Paper Writing Rubric located in the Course Info area. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format. Information on scholarly writing may be found in the APA Publication Manual (6th ed.) and at the Walden Writing Center website. Also, refer to the Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity section of the Guidelines and Policies area of the course navigation menu.

Psychology has been influenced by many competing theories that have attempted to explain and predict behavior. In the previous unit, you learned about the foundations of these theories. Theories lead to hypotheses, which lead to research and observation. Peer-reviewed research has withstood the rigorous evaluation of a board of recognized experts in the field, while being extensively reviewed for ethics by an Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Here is an example of a current peer-reviewed research article that you could find in the Purdue Global Library:

Bailey, T. L., & Brown, A. (2016). Online student services: Current practices and recommendations for implementation. Journal of Educational Technology Systems44(4), 450–462. Retrieved from http://search.ebscohost.com.libauth.purdueglobal.edu/login.aspx?direct=true&db=tfh&AN=115184368&site=eds-live

Peer-reviewed research is not easy to understand, but by focusing on the abstract and the introductory section, students can often get the information they need to understand the main point of the research.

  • What topic would you like to know more about concerning a behavior that you witness in yourself or others?
  • Choose a research method that you think would be best suited to study the behavior and use the scientific method to help you break down the steps of your proposed research.
  • Describe what ethical considerations you would need to keep in mind, referencing APA ethical principles.

community

For this Assignment, imagine you are an administrator (choose your path assignment) who faces funding problems because your major funder has determined that your clients do not have proper access to services. Many of the access to service issues are community based, so you contact your peers in the town to design a plan that allows clients to access needed services quicker. Continue on the same path as you initially selected—you are one step closer to graduation now!

Path 1: Child and Family Welfare Scenario

You are the director of child prevention services for the school system. While you and your staff do not directly work for the state, a major portion of your funding comes from the school budget. The school administrators audited your program’s success to determine the feasibility of continued funding. Their findings revealed that the agency is providing excellent service to child clients but is doing a sub-par job in connecting families with needed ancillary services. You conduct an internal investigation into your case manager procedures and discover that they are making appropriate referrals. The difficulty is that each agency has different intake policies, procedures, and requirements, meaning that clients must spend at least an entire morning or afternoon just applying for each service. Further, many families do not have time to travel between a few agencies to get the services. (Many do not have reliable transportation.)

In a 4-5 page paper, design a plan for service delivery between multiple agencies that reduces paperwork and intake time. Be sure to include the following in your design:

  1. List some typical obstacles that interfere with the clients’ ability to access services across agencies.
  2. What are some creative ways to facilitate client care between many different types of agencies (e.g., food bank, mental health agency, welfare to work)?
  3. Often agencies have service-specific rules and laws that they must follow. Remember that most agencies must now follow HIPAA regulations; think about how you can use this knowledge to your advantage. What suggestions do you have for helping agencies in your town to streamline the intake process? Are there ways to facilitate access to services by eliminating some of the intake procedures? Why or why not?
  4. How does this plan eliminate the identified obstacles that interfere with the clients’ ability to access services at different agencies?

Suggested Format:

  • Title page (Coffeetown Problem)
  • Introduction (question one information-at least a half page)
  • Use theories and problem-solving from your studies (questions 2 and 3-at least two and a half pages)
  • Evaluation of the plan’s effectiveness (question 4-at least a half page)

* Look at the paper instructions for details

As children grow up, they are often exposed to and taught about the implications of tolerance across a broad range of social dynamics.  Using a child development theory of your choice, explain the advantages and disadvantages of promoting social tolerance among children under the age of 10.  In your initial post, you must present a balanced argument for both positions (for example, you cannot favor advantages over disadvantages or visa versa).

week 4

Performance management is a particularly important topic when it comes to employee retention and development. How the process is designed and implemented can dramatically impact individual and organizational outcomes. The discussion this week is focused on the skills required to implement a successful performance management system. In your initial post, discuss the following topics:

  • What skills and abilities does a manager need in order to successfully manage employee performance?
  • Provide an example of a situation you’ve experience or observed where the manager did not have the skills necessary to support performance management.
  • In your experience, how do most managers view the performance management process in general? How do employees see it? Are those views productive or counterproductive?
  • Should employees be trained to participate in the performance management process? What would such training include?

Your post should directly address each question, providing references and examples to support your points. You should use at least two scholarly sources cited in APA format.

Psychological Treatment Plan

It is recommended that students review the e-book The Complete Adult Psychotherapy Treatment Planner (Jongsma, Peterson, & Bruce, 2014) for additional assistance in completing this assignment.

Clinical and counseling psychologists utilize treatment plans to document a client’s progress toward short- and long-term goals. The content within psychological treatment plans varies depending on the clinical setting. The clinician’s theoretical orientation, evidenced-based practices, and the client’s needs are taken into account when developing and implementing a treatment plan. Typically, the client’s presenting problem(s), behaviorally defined symptom(s), goals, objectives, and interventions determined by the clinician are included within a treatment plan.

To understand the treatment planning process, students will assume the role of a clinical or counseling psychologist and develop a comprehensive treatment plan based on the same case study utilized for the Psychiatric Diagnosis assignment in PSY645. A minimum of five peer-reviewed resources must be used to support the recommendations made within the plan. The Psychological Treatment Plan must include the headings and content outlined below.

Behaviorally Defined Symptoms

  • Define the client’s presenting problem(s) and provide a diagnostic impression.
  • Identify how the problem(s) is/are evidenced in the client’s behavior.
  • List the client’s cognitive and behavioral symptoms.

Long-Term Goal

  • Generate a long-term treatment goal that represents the desired outcome for the client.
    • This goal should be broad and does not need to be measureable.

Short-Term Objectives

  • Generate a minimum of three short-term objectives for attaining the long-term goal.
    • Each objective should be stated in behaviorally measureable language. Subjective or vague objectives are not acceptable. For example, it should be stated that the objective will be accomplished by a specific date or that a specific symptom will be reduced by a certain percentage.

Interventions

  • Identify at least one intervention for achieving each of the short-term objectives.
  • Compare a minimum of three evidence-based theoretical orientations from which appropriate interventions can be selected for the client.
  • Explain the connection between the theoretical orientation and corresponding intervention selected.
  • Provide a rationale for the integration of multiple theoretical orientations within this treatment plan.
  • Identify two to three treatment modalities (e.g., individual, couple, family, group, etc.) that would be appropriate for use with the client.

It is a best practice to include outside providers (e.g., psychiatrists, medical doctors, nutritionists, social workers, holistic practitioners, etc.) in the intervention planning process to build a support network that will assist the client in the achievement of treatment goals.

Evaluation

  • List the anticipated outcomes of each proposed treatment intervention based on scholarly literature.
    • Be sure to take into account the individual’s strengths, weaknesses, external stressors, and cultural factors (e.g., gender, age, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc.) in the evaluation.
  • Provide an assessment of the efficacy of evidence-based intervention options.

Ethics

  • Analyze and describe potential ethical dilemmas that may arise while implementing this treatment plan.
  • Cite specific ethical principles and any applicable law(s) for resolving the ethical dilemma(s).

The Psychological Treatment Plan

  • Must be 8 to 10 double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..
  • Must include a separate title page with the following:
    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  • Must use at least five peer-reviewed sources in addition to the course text.
  • Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  • Must include a separate references page that is formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Assignment 2: Course Project Part I: Interview and Background Research

Refer to the Course Project Overview. Early in the course, you selected a specific disorder. Research it using your textbook and Argosy University online library resources. A minimum of 5 sources in addition to your textbook should be used. At least three of those sources should be peer-reviewed journal articles. The remaining 2 sources may be books, journal articles, or reputable web sites (like those from professional organizations or governmental agencies, not Wikipedia or similar sites).

Review the rubric, as it provides detailed instructions on how best to succeed on this assignment. In the rubric, you will find that you need to address the following in a paper:

  • Description of the selected disorder (Identify the DSM diagnostic category for the disorder and distinguish between diagnostic and commonly used terminology.)
  • Causative factors of the disorder
  • Diagnosis of the disorder
  • Treatment of the disorder
  • Survey of current research on the disorder

Write a 4–5-page paper in Word format. Remember to use the rubric as you write your paper. Apply APA standards to citation of sources, and include an APA style  title/cover page and reference page.
