***You may type or write this assignment.

Directions:

  1. Read and study the Noun Clause information in the Clauses Handout.
  2. Then, for each section below, create four sentences about frogs.
  3. Then underline each sentence entirely (See how this is done in the Clauses Handout).
  4. Put brackets around each entire noun clause only.
  5. Underline the subject once and the verb twice in each noun clause.
  6. For your sentences in sections I, II, III, & IV, underline the subject once and the verb twice within the independent clause portion for each sentence.

The Four Sections:

I. The Noun clause as the subject in each sentence. (4 total)
(Note: Do not forget to underline the entire noun clause as the subject for the entire

sentence in this section only. The noun clause will be the subject for these entire sentences in this section)

II.. The Noun clause as the direct object following an action verb in each sentence. (4 total)

Remember: make sure you are able to ask “what?” after the action verb because direct objects answer the question “what.”

III.. The Noun clause as the direct object of a preposition in each sentence. (4 total)

IV. The Noun clause as the subject complement of the subject in each sentence. (4 total)
